Here are two pictures, taken May 31 from 10th St south, of the fire that has been raging for three days in Estero. The second picture was taken 10 minutes after the first. It had appeared that the fire was somewhat under control late May 30th, but as you can see, it flared up again. __________________________________________________________________________________________
Pictures taken by Dick Swarthout June 17 (Citrus Blossom and Club House) show how low the water levels in the ponds are becoming. The rainy season has been slow to start this year, but word from The Park say it finally seems to have started June 24. __________________________________________________________________________________________ On June 30, the pine trees at the east side of the Rec Hall were removed. __________________________________________________________________________________________ A lightening strike in the field just outside the west end of Belle Villa gave residents quite a scare. Fortunately, shortly after the strike, a heavy downpour put the fire out. This picture was taken from a home on Casals Ln in Belle Villa.
