The sunsets through the smoke brought pretty colors.

These pictures were taken Tues May 8 between 2 - 3pm. As the day has gone on, the smoke gets thicker and heavier. Note the first picture... the fire truck is from Dunedin!

A fire on Bonita Beach Road east of Bonita Grande, Monday May 7. The last picture was as traffic was being asked to leave the area and the road was closed. The first pictures were taken at 2pm, the last 5 at Bonita Grande and Bonita Beach Rd's were taken at 5pm. There were 9 fires burning in Southwest Florida today. This one is the biggest. As of 11 pm May 7, the fire had jumped Beach Road and covers more than 400 acres. Wink news just reported that it is 50% contained. The people in the developments at the east end have been evacuated.

6 days and no rain later, the ponds are down more than a foot.

April 7/07


Pictures taken from in front of the Citrus Park entrance sign of a brush and grass fire 1/2 mile up Morton Ave. The fire was on the west side of Morton across from the Church. Traffic was blocked for almost 2 hours while Firefighters got control of the blaze.


Felicia, Dennis and Bob stand by the back gate, directing Park and local traffic. Those not from CP trapped behind the fire were given access through to exit via Bonita Grande. Well done!
