I have added this page to help those of you who are
now receiving notices of cancellation from Citizens Insurance. In the last week
I have received phone calls from those of you who have gone north and are now
getting your notices. Below is the original letter I sent (Rick Sexton is my
Agent, no need to contact him) after several futile telephone conversations with
Citizens. Also are the letters I received from Connie Mack and from Kathleen
Campbell of Citizens. You may use whatever parts of my letter that you wish if
you have trouble writing your own. You should add that your unit is tied down,
and attached to a solid structure. When I spoke to the Florida Insurance Agency,
they advised me that the standards (in this instance) for insurance were if your
unit was 8 x 25 or 10 x 35 it would be classified as a travel trailer UNLESS it
was attached to a solid structure i.e. your porch/florida room/lanai. If was
attached, it was then classified as a park model or mobile home. Below the
letters, I will provide the mail or e mail address to send your letters. Make
sure you enclose a copy of your title and pictures of your unit from all angles.
If I can be of any assistance, please let me know.
